Founded in 2008, LionbridgePR started life as MCM. It was established by Ben and Sophie McCarthy who combined their experience of working in front of the camera in television news and for some of London’s biggest PR agencies.
They built their business advising clients on how to engage with media, often in times of crisis. They rapidly became trusted advisors to board members of blue-chip companies around the world. Over the years, communications teams have sought their help in telling their stories, protecting their reputations and building their brands.
Nelleke Barning, VP Global Communications & External Affairs, Nutrition, DSM
We have been advising businesses on how to handle the media on some of the biggest stories of recent years. The Paradise Papers data theft, Thomas Cook’s Corfu crisis and mass fatality aviation accidents to name but a few. Recently we provided frontline advice to a pharmaceutical company searching for a cure for Covid-19 and we’ve helped a biotech start-up launch sustainable algal oil containing EPA & DHA Omega-3
Capitalising on our experience to help a broader range of clients solve their communications challenges, we have grown our agency into a trusted team of communications experts. We are ready to advise you on how you can engage successfully with your most important stakeholders, tell your brand’s story, and deliver on your key communications objectives.
For fifteen years, Ben worked as a correspondent for the three main UK television networks, BBC, ITN and Sky News. This gave him great insight into how newsrooms operate and the best way for companies to land their messages.

She has particular expertise in launch campaigns and creative engagement of internal audiences.
